Justin Reid

North Carolina singer-songwriter Justin Reid captures the essence of community and provides a platform to express his creativity through storytelling. “I grew up in the church, and my dad’s side of the family is all musical—we all sing, and music was always a part of our family.” His writing covers the full spectrum of human emotion, blending pop elements with acoustic undertones to create a unique sound that'll make you move and groove.

Finding community and a platform in the Greensboro open mic scene, then branching out to the brewery circuit, he is seasoned performer. He is in the midst of producing his first album with Black Rabbit Audio, and has launched a GoFundMe for community support.  The performance side of music is an ever-evolving process, and Reid hopes that the album project will be out in the next year. “One of the reasons this GoFundMe is so community-driven for me is that; I would not be where I am without the Greensboro music scene—it gives you the opportunity to grow and experience in a scene where you’re around friends who quickly become family.  Greensboro—and North Carolina more broadly, gave me my groove.”
